Being a stay at home mommy can be fun and so much more

Hey there, I'm a stay at home mommy loving every min of it. With that being said, trying to have fun, and keeping myself happy and fulfilled can sometimes be a challenge. Trust me I know I've been doing it now for seven years. I have felt like I'm trapped, this is all I am, and what should I be doing with my life?, Do I look like me still?. Being a stay at home mommy you feel like that is all that you are from time to time ( more like all the time) but there is more to you that meets the eye then just the front of being a mommy. Trust me I know, I have been there, and it does take a little time to feel like you are YOU again. Don't worry you will get there! I wanted to share today a few of the things that I have done to make myself feel, look, and have more fun while being home all the time.

Now I'm sure that you have that pin board that you say you are going to start trying. Yes I know I have one too, and I'll get to them all one day. How about you try to start there though. Start with something small that you can even make a kid friendly version of it (that's only if you want too). What I do is, I set my kiddos up with something fun to do and then I start my fun project just for me. I've been making my own sugar scrubs at home, they are both fun to make and cheap too. So they are a win win also they are one of the ways that I started to make myself feel better and feel good in my own skin again.

Art projects are always a good way to have fun, and the kiddos can also do their own project while you do you'res. I find having a painting day is always a good way to unwind. I pull out the water colors for the kids and drag out the nice paints for me and we just paint how we are feeling. My kiddos love getting into it ( plus water colors easy to clean up) and mine don't really bother one another during painting time either. So its a win for this mommy and I get to paint and feel good that i'm doing something that I really like to do.

I like to go for long walks after dinner in the summer time, to just unwind from the day. This is one that I like to do on my own. That way its a break from the house, and the kiddos ( the kiddos are home with my hubby). Its okay to take that time out, its healthy and good for you.

Just a couple of the thing that I do. More to come. Till next time.

garden soil tips

Hello there, today I would like to talk about what I do to help my garden soil to have more too it. I should start off with saying that I ( my household has) raised beds for gardening in ( we have 7 of them). We have them filled with potting soil about 2/3's of the way in each of the raised beds. Now potting soil alone wont do the trick the soil needs help. So I would like to share what has worked for us and what has not worked for us.

We started the process in about the middle of January, We would make juice in our juicer every other day or so ( I know lots of home made juice but with two little kiddos that love juice we had to with how fast it went), we would then take all the pulp from that juicing time and dump it right into our planter boxes. From there we would till it all in and start all over again with the next box. once spring time came around and we where able to plant our little plans or soil was nice and ready to go. That year our garden was over flowing with veggies we were giving them away. Over all that was a very good year. Also a little side note, if you let the tomatoes just the fruit not the plant at the end of the gardening season just break down all fall and winter long then you wont need to plant new tomato plants then next spring.

Now the next year we did not make juice, so we wanted to try a store bought fertilizer that you just sprinkle in the boxes and then till in. it said to do that once every six weeks to help keep you're garden happy. So we said "okay lets give it a try." Well lets just say we about 1/3 of what we had the year before, We also notice that the plants took a little longer to start making fruit. So that year with store bought fertilizer not so great at all. I would like to say that I once again left the tomatoes in the planter beds for the next year of tomato plants,

Now that brings me to the current year that we are in. I started getting out boxes ready right after Halloween,  by placing the caved pumpkins in to the garden beds letting them break down and do they're thing. I have been also placing any and all veggies and fruits (no seed), peels and skins too into the garden. I even have been putting the veggies that where in my fridge that were going bad into the garden, same with the fruits that we had that where going bad. If you have a garden there is no need to toss out the going bad veggies and fruit into the trash just remove the seeds and toss in the garden.  So that the garden has lots of goodies to break down and make the soil rich for the planting during the next spring.

I hope that you find my little tips helpful. And I hope that I can write more that you would like to read about. If you would like to ask me anything about my posts feel free to ask and I will try and answer them the best that I can. Till next time, thank you for reading.

Small space living, how to make it work for you.

So the topic today is how you can make your 920sqft home feel like it’s a lot bigger by adding a few things and taking a few things away.  Small spaces are sometimes hard to handle with all the things you already have and what you’re given over time. It can feel like you’re in the hoarders club. I’ve been there too. What I have done to make me feel like I have more space than I do:

 1) I use any wall space that I can to add the feel of more space.  One way is adding a few shelves in rooms like the kitchen and bathrooms to give you more storage space and let’s face it walls in those rooms don’t get used that often, adding shelves in those rooms adds more to your living area, but can if you use the wrong color of paint make it feel smaller then it is in there (so be careful about that).

 2) another way you can save on space is by getting rid of anything that you don’t use all the time ( and we all have those things that are just getting dusty in the back corner), I would even go as far to say clothing that you have that you’re not going to wear can even go. I just went through everything in my home and down sized the whole house to save me some space and clothing was a big one for me.

3) now if you have kids I know that this can be a hard thing to do or think about doing, but those toys can be in the way (let’s face it they have so many and get more every year anyhow) but while they are out of the house just take the time to go thought and get rid of the toys that you know for a fact they don’t play with anymore, or the ones that don’t work anymore. You will see lots of space for your kids in their room by doing this.

 4) last one for this time is adding so form of hangers in your kitchen to hang pots and pans if you can that will help add more space for sure.  I add some in mine and now I have more room for the big pots that I couldn’t hang and other big kitchen things.

That’s all for this time hope I could help you out today. Thanks for reading.

Picky eaters 1

Being a mom, having a picky eater is bound to happen. Now in the case of my home I have two of them. In my home the picky eater wont eat those veggies. So I wanted to give some helpful tips that I have found over the years for the fight against picky eating.

So for those picky eater about them veggies, what I've found that helps get the veggies in and they don't know that they are there is to hide them in food that they really like. So for starts lets take ketchup, I would take a few peas ( like a small hand full) place them in the blender with about a cup of ketchup and blend till smooth. Now the color wont look the same as it did before but if you really want then you can add some red color to the mix and it should look closer to the color of ketchup. You can do any number of veggies in that mix.

I also found making a small blend of veggies mixed up in the bender then adding that to scrambled eggs with a little cheese them my little would eat it right up. I would also mix in veggies into the smoothies that we had as a fun little treat. The key is to cover up the color of the veggies in the smoothie, frozen blueberries are really good at covering up the color.

I would also make a very finely minced veggie mix and mix it all in with ground meats. We would cook it all together and the little one never knew. I would also make soups with the veggies in it , right before the cook time was up I would puree the whole thing and add my meats or noddles to it after that and allow the soup to cook for 20 mins longer so everything had time to come together.

( Now that we have been doing this for over a year my veggie picky eater is now trying those veggies on his own.)

Happy home, happy mommy

Have you ever found that its not easy with kids to keep up on your house work? Well with two kids myself I find it can be challenging from time to time. I have found that if you spend 30 mins to an hour a day picking up, and letting the little ones help makes it fun and easier. There are lots of cleaning products out there that save so much time, and make it easy. You don't need to buy the stuff with a big price tag if you know what your looking for. Some discount cleaners work just as good as the pricey stuff, I found a new cleaner for the kitchen that works on just about everything. Scrubbing bubbles for the kitchen works wonders on stains that just wont come out. its easy and fast when you have kids. Try it because it works!

coupons and shopping trip

Hey everyone I know its been  while but I was very busy. I do want to say that I now have a printer so I will be able to print coupons to save even more money. I know that I talk alot about coupons but I never talk about how my shopping trips go when I go. So today Im going to talk about how my shopping trips go. When I frist started couponing I was only saveing maybe five dollars each tip, then I started to bring my bags and I would save a little more. Now when I go I save more like 20 or 30 at one time. I some times dont have the best of luck with when I go shopping but I feel good when I do save money. I am tring to save more money and learn more ways to save. I'll be able to save more when I start printing coupons from home. Just remember to clip those coupons and print them out. Have fun guys.

Couponing tip today

Okay so today is tip day for you couponers out there. So when your going through the adds and your pull out all the ones you like and the ones that you'll use, before you go to cut each coupon out you should try makeing all the coupons in to there own pills. So what that means if you have lets say a butter coupon and you have a lot of them and there all the same you stack them all together and then you cut them all at once. That will save you 10 or more mins when your clipping. Now when you are putting all your nicely cut coupons away I find it easier to put them in to card sleave pages and then in a folder. Or one way that I have done it was storing them in labled bages. Oh and one more when your printing coupons out there is a limit that you can print out at one time. I hope the tips help.
